In the summer of 2001 I worked for Gefoglio Family Metalcrafters in Costa Mesa, CA. Work there was seasonal and after delivering the Chrysler Crossfire concept car to Chrysler Motors to be shown at the North American Auto Show, the company then does smaller contracts for a few months. I was given the assignment of developing an electronic door handle for the 2004 Dodge Viper. In 2001 most all door handles were mechanical. So, I designed and built the first “proof of concept” electronic door handle that made it into production and is on this car visiting the shop.
